Where the pretty things are : design art craft fashion

Patrick Casey January 31, 2011

For all of you getting married in 2012 (yes, if you’re getting married this summer, it would be a tad late to start looking for a dress wouldn’t it?) and who want find the perfect dress, I would recommend having a peek at this website:  patrickcasey.ie. My friend Anita wore a dress Patrick had designed for her wedding and she looked absolutely stunning. Those two dresses above are my favourites from his current collection and… now I really feel silly telling you about how much I love those dresses… and not planning a wedding… because I’m married… it feels like I was cheating on my wedding dress. More about Patrick’s work here.

Few days ago, one of my friend has pointed my growing obsession for jewelries. I didn’t actually realise until she said it… now I’m looking at my post for the last months and… duuuuh! The funny thing is that I don’t even wear that much jewelries, but I have to say if I was to start my life all over (not the early teens stage please) I’d probably try to give it a go as a jewelery designer. For now I’m just enjoying admiring other peoples work. More about Kyoko Hashimoto here.

ceramist / designer

A friend of mine is a very talented ceramist and designer leaving in Paris. Her name is Alice Gavalet and she studied in the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs in Paris . She has worked with Guy Degrenne, Kenzo and Givenchy. She actually works with Elizabeth Garouste and when she’s not working she keeps herself busy with her personal work (pictures above). I am the proud owner of several of her creations including the pink guy on the picture above and she’s been kind enough to create accessories for my daughter.
